The Cath Lab Masterclass 2027

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to the Cathlab Masterclass on Congenital & Structural Interventions 2027, being held on 23rd and 24th January 2027 at Aster Medicity, Kochi.

A deep understanding of basic hardware and the ability to use it appropriately is the key to better results in the lab. The entire course has been hence designed as a focused and practical learning platform where all DM/DNB Cardiology trainees, junior cardiologists and Cath Lab Technologists gets to relearn all about the hardware and hemodynamics which forms the core strength of congenital and structural cardiac interventions. Our objective is to provide participants with a better understanding through a combination of hands-on workshops, interactive discussions, case-based learning, and advanced procedural insights.

The first day will focus on basic interventions and hands-on learning— covering ASD, PDA and VSD device closures, cardiac catheterisation, pressure and saturation measurements, oximetry and hemodynamic interpretation, angiographic techniques, device selection, and management of common procedural challenges.

The second day will take participants into the world of advanced congenital and structural interventions, including RSOV closure, coarctation and pulmonary artery stenting, coronary cameral fistula closure, PFO and sinus venosus ASD interventions, post-MI VSD closure, paravalvular leak closure, valve implantation, neonatal balloon procedures, and PDA stenting.

A special feature of this course is its emphasis on practical decision-making and real-world procedural challenges. We hope to create an environment where participants can interact closely with experienced faculty, understand the rationale behind choosing different devices and techniques, and gain confidence in managing challenging cases.
